For performers ages 10–17 who are ready to build on their experience and take the stage in a full-scale Broadway musical, complete with costumes, lighting, sound, and live audiences.
What Is A Mainstage Production?
A Full-Scale Musical, Start to Finish
Curtain Up Studios' Mainstage Productions are designed for performers who are ready to take the next step beyond classes and workshops.
Over the course of 12 weeks, students experience what it's like to be part of a full-scale musical production after auditioning and getting cast in a guaranteed role. Working alongside our directing, choreography, and music teams, performers develop their acting, singing, and dancing skills while learning the discipline, teamwork, and confidence that come with bringing a Broadway musical to life.
The program culminates in 2-4 fully staged productions depending on number of casts complete with a live audience, professional lighting, costumes, sound, and scenic elements in a professional theatre.
The Mainstage Experience

Audition
Every performer auditions and is cast in a role that both showcases their strengths and encourages continued growth.

Rehearse
Students attend 2 to 3 rehearsals each week over 12 weeks, learning music, choreography, blocking, character development, and ensemble work while building friendships and confidence.

Perform
The season concludes with 2 to 4 public performances (depending on number of casts) in a professional theatre complete with costumes, lighting, sound, concessions and a live audience.
Is Mainstage Right for My Child?
While registration is open to everyone within the age range 10-17 and a role in the production is guaranteed, performers are cast based on their audition and the needs of the production.
Because of the commitment and pace of rehearsals, we recommend that students have some prior performance experience through school theatre, community theatre, or one of our workshops or classes.
