Curtain Up Studios' summer camps are designed to be a fun, engaging, and immersive way for performers ages 6-16 of all experience levels to act, sing, and dance in a musical.
Over the course of one week, your child will be assigned a role, learn lines, blocking, choreography, and songs, then take the stage for family and friends on the final day. Summer 2026 productions include Songs & Scenes from Matilda Jr, Aladdin Jr, and Mamma Mia.

Every camper is cast in a Broadway title, and will experience being part of a musical to build their confidence on stage.

Your Child’s Week with Curtain Up

Day 1 - Monday
Role Placement
WHAT HAPPENS
Your performer will participate in our role placement process. Our camps are designed to be engaging for both new and experienced performers, and every child is guaranteed a role in the production. Prior to the start of camp, you will receive music, lyrics, and scene selections to help your child prepare. While memorization is not required for the first day, we encourage performers to be familiar with the material. At the end of the day, each camper will receive their script and role assignment.

Days 2 & 3 - Tuesday & Wednesday
Rehearsals & Skills
WHAT HAPPENS
Campers will begin learning stage directions, choreography, and character development. Each day also includes theatre games and activities designed to build acting skills and strengthen ensemble collaboration.

Day 4 - Thursday
Dress Rehearsal
WHAT HAPPENS
We will conduct a full dress rehearsal. Basic costumes are provided for all performers. We ask that campers arrive wearing appropriate base layers, such as a black tank top and leggings; no additional purchases are required.

Performance Day!
WHAT HAPPENS
Campers should arrive at 9:00 AM with their snack and lunch. Following a final run-through, parents are invited to attend the performance. Specific performance times will be assigned based on the number of casts.

Songs & Scenes from Matilda Jr.
July 6 - 10, 2026
Ages 8 - 14
Tuition: $475 + processing fees
Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence... and special powers! She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!
Songs & Scenes from Aladdin Jr. Week 1
July 13 - 17, 2026
Ages 6 - 10

The story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends, Babkak, Omar, and Kassim, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess, Jasmine, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. With expanded characters, new songs, and more thrills, this new adaptation of the beloved story will open up “a whole new world” for your young performers!

We absolutely love Curtain Up Studios. Since my daughter tried her first summer camp almost two years ago she has been obsessed with theater!
